I think most of us are trying to tiptoe into 2022 without disturbing it too much. Still, the turn of the new year is the time for a little reflection before we go on to our hopes for the new year. This can still be the year of you. Rather than making a broad resolution, perhaps try terming them as goals with small but steady steps toward achieving them. We’ve looked at several possibilities to better oneself and reaching out toward the community.Beyond goal setting and follow through, we’ve found a few ways to brighten up your winter doldrums. If you find yourself single on Valentine’s Day this year, celebrate your single status on Singles Awareness Day instead!There are some business in the Longmont area with unique ways of making our community better for all, whether that means creating safe spaces for the LGBTQ and allies, or providing a new, more affordable take on healthcare.No matter what 2022 gets up to, we can rise to meet the challenge knowing we’re the best selves we can be.

This time of year our minds turn to giving; to friends and loved ones certainly, but also to our community. When we count our blessings we may want to share that feeling with others. We’ve gathered some ways for you to do just that, including a few that give as much as they get. We also recognize a few businesses that give back, understanding that being a part of a community means much more than just living in it. The holidays also bring with them that festive spirit, and many of our favorite local events are back to help us celebrate. Wherever your heart and head are at this moment, we wish you a happy holiday season and a joyous new year.

We all know how beautiful Colorado is in the fall. Hiking and biking in our magnificent wilds will always be a favorite fall activity, but this year we finally have more to look forward to. Fall events are making a comeback. Oktoberfests and horror movies are just a couple of the things you’ll find going on around Longmont this season. See the aspens by train for a change of pace, and take in the western side of our incredible state. Fall is perfect for regrouping and settling into routine before the stress of the holidays, so enjoy it while it lasts!
